Death, Grief and Bereavement
Living with the Aftermath of war in Zimbabwe.
1. Families and individuals are struggling to find relatives who disappeared.
2. Unknown civilians in shallow graves with no memorials.
Remembrance and ceremonies
1.The bereaved need a Remembrance site to collectively mourn and reflect.
Politics of presentation
1. Research and collection of pictures and details of the sites, witness and narratives to be preserved in museums and galleries. The history and Memory studies to be updated.
There should be an intense debate on how the atrocities memories should be addressed.
The victors and perpetrators of the worst crime in Zimbabwe should be public, guilt and shame should be felt.
Compare how Germany dealt with their wartime past 1945, was there guilt and how did German society deal with it?
Did Germany apologise about the Holocaust?
