Death, Grief and Bereavement: Living with the Aftermath of war in Zimbabwe.

Image
Ossah Tiri Flynn`s Point of View Death, Grief and Bereavement  Living with the Aftermath of war in Zimbabwe. 1. Families and individuals are struggling to find relatives who disappeared. 2. Unknown civilians in shallow graves with no memorials. Remembrance and ceremonies  1.The bereaved need a Remembrance site to collectively mourn and reflect.  Politics of presentation 1. Research and collection of pictures and details of the sites, witness and narratives to be preserved in museums and galleries. The history and Memory studies to be updated.  There should be an intense debate on how the atrocities memories should be addressed. The victors and perpetrators of the worst crime in Zimbabwe should be public, guilt and shame should be felt.  Compare how Germany dealt with their wartime past 1945, was there guilt and how did German society deal with it? Did Germany apologise about the Holocaust?

Solution focused approach for Zimbabwe Women Conference in UK

Image
By Muzvare Betty Makoni-MBM  Zimbabwe Women Global Forum Conference is by the corner happening in Central London on 26 January 2018 .  Women should be empowered to come together and organise a strong leadership that works with national government, all political parties and all people of Zimbabwe to find solutions to current economic challenges the country is facing.  We therefore decided to have solution focused approach because Zimbabwe debates, challenges, up and downs are way far too many and if we stick to those our energies will soon run out. We know the negative narrative of Zimbabwe.  T he Zimbabwe narrative is not new to us at all. We all know country was looted and destroyed. But what is the solution?  The country is in intensive care unit and for anyone who needs to support they should bring solutions and not problems. One should be innovative and creative about how they can help solve current crisis, conflicts, arguments and misundersta...

Why Zimbabwe Women Global Forum?

Image
We represent  a fraction of Zimbabwean women, living in the diaspora and have been brought together by new developments in our mother land Zimbabwe.  Many of us waited for a "New Zimbabwe" to come. We are individuals and organisations uniting together to set our agenda on how to engage the current government  in  ensuring our knowledge, skills and experience we  have all acquired over the years are  shared for the development of our beloved country, Zimbabwe. The women in the diaspora have sustained  the economy and families back home by different means and through our remittances.  A recent study  shows  (if we can quote the study, that wld really be usefull) that diaspora is the biggest donor in Africa. But our most proud achievement is the mental resilience we have all built from the very day we left Zimbabwe as we struggled to be a part of the different cultures in foreign  lands.  Not withstanding the stres...
